runners completed the 2005 running of the High Desert 50K ultra. Steve Chrapchynski finished first in a time of
3:33:37, and, for the second year in a row Amy Grafius was the first
female, crossing the line in 4:09:42.
Jeff Klemmer was first of the 99 runners
in the 30k finishing in 1:55:40,
beating his nearest competitor by almost 30 mintes. In a time of 2:33:18, Linda
Jannelli was the female winner.
The weather was
perfect -- sunny with the temperature around 30deg at the start and warming to the mid
50s as the race progressed -- with no wind!!

The
early starters got off first at around 6:00 AM. It was still pretty brisk
and dark at that time.)
The main start was about an hour later. The sun was coming up and everything
looked good.
