I was happy to organize this virtual trail running series again for the third year. This time, I decided to share the fun of coming up with the courses. It did not take long to recruit six enthusiastic volunteers! A big thankyou to (in the order we did the courses) Jenny McLaughlin, Julie Jensen, Eric Kajiwara, Andrew Smosna, Wesley Elmore, and Tony Scanlan for your time and your ideas. And special thanks to Connie and Tony Scanlan, for picking up the course marking flags, and to Tom Rindt, for website work.
We again allowed two weeks to run or hike each of the six courses, with another course going "active" each Monday. The courses were described online with maps and .gpx tracks as in previous years. Maintaining course marking was more feasible this time, with a different person responsible for each course.
Forty-three runners and hikers signed up. Thirty-six of those turned in results from at least one of the six courses. And of those, 24 did all six of them! These numbers were all greater than for last year. I hope that others who did not submit times enjoyed these routes too. There were again some unofficial meet-up opportunities. Thank you Carol Wolfe for instigating them!
Although it was difficult to avoid the summer heat, I am grateful that we did not have the forest fire smoke that has discouraged us in past years.
Series male and female points leaders in six age groups will be receiving awards. Congratulations to this year's top points-earners!
