This is the Burros cross country course with a single-track hill added. The start/finish is at the dirt parking lot south of the College Child Care Center, starting and finishing at the big sign on the east end of the parking lot.
Start south on the dirt College Heights Road (RC10). Take the first right turn and follow the main dirt road as it curves right and joins the dirt road going west (The road used for the Firecracker 4000 course). The 100-yard section from College Hts Blvd to the curve turning north is the section where you will be using again on your way to the Character-Building Loop. Continue west until you take a slight right turn that will bring you to a small hill. Run up and over the hill and continue on that road until you take a left turn onto an easy uphill climb at approximately 1.2 miles.
Continue up the dirt road and take another left turn up a steeper climb up to the saddle. Up to now you have been on the cross-country course. Now the fun begins.
When you reach the saddle, at an approximate 1.5 miles, you will take a sharp right onto the bike single track. Take the left turn at almost the top of the climb. Although tempting, keep on the bike single track and DONOT hop onto the dirt road that is close to the bike track. The bike track levels off at the top. Keep on the single track until you come to the dirt road, turn left to Vomit Hill. Continue down the bike single track until you reach the Caballo Blanco dirt road (RC4) then turn right. You are back on the Burros CC course.
Continue on the dirt road then make a left turn on a downhill dirt road at approximate 3 miles. When you meet another dirt road running east and west, turn right and head to College Hts Blvd.
Although you can see the finish line, DO NOT turn left but turn right up College Hts Blvd to make the character-building loop. When you came to a dirt turnout on the east side of College Hts Blvd, turn left and continue on to a dirt road that is downhill running north. Turn left at the fence line and run to the end of the fence and turn right to the finish line. Congrats!! You completed Challenge #3.
