This is a short loop above the college, featuring a nice singletrack bike trail. It's just short of 3 miles, and about 300 feet elevation gain. Run the loop counterclockwise.
Leave the College Trailhead dirt parking lot at the southwest corner and head southwest, then west on RC96. Continue west as you cross RC4 and RC5. When you top a rise at about .75 miles, the road bends southwest. At about .9 miles, turn right uphill. You are still on RC96.
When you crest that hill, at about 1 mile, there are now two singletrack trails going left, uphill. Take the second one. Just before coming to a high point, the trail turns sharply left. Keep following the trail, and when it crosses a road, look for the trail to continue on the other side. Continue following the trail as it curves south, winds a bit, and ends at a road going downhill and southeast. Turn downhill (left) onto this road and cross a prominent road (RC5). Continue straight ahead until the next junction, then turn downhill, heading back toward RC5. Just before reaching RC5, take the singletrack option paralleling the road for a nice downhill stretch.
At about 1.9 miles, there is a fork in the singletrack, with a newer trail easing off to the right. Stay left here, on the original trail, which soon comes out onto RC76. Continue east, then stay left at an old mine. At the next intersection, turn right onto RC4 and follow it uphill. Watch your for your final turn downhill on RC78. Follow the RC78 signs as is winds toward the college, then dead ends at RC96. Cross RC96 onto a singletrack and follow it as it rejoins your outbound route.
